How long have you been in business?

17 YEARS (SINCE 2002)

Is your company insured?

To ensure that both you and the company are protected in the event of calamity.   USA Fence and Roofing is insured.

Are you licensed?

The State of Texas does not require a license, however as required, we register in every city that we work in.

Are you a local company?

Yes, we only cover the local DFW area.  We are not storm chasers.

What are your qualifications?

Learning construction work began with my father who is also a contractor.

A big advantage we have over many contractors is that we are licensed insurance adjusters and attend annual continuing education classes. Over the years, we have found that our experience and education as adjusters helps us server our customers better throughout completion of the work, as well as handling the insurance claim process.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we offer a 3 year, 5 year, and a 10 year warranty, depending on your needs.

Do you provide a written estimate?

The majority of roofs are replaced under insurance claims, so it is best to do the work under the insurance companies report and follow their guidelines.  We are experts in the area and can explain the process to you.

If there is not an insurance claim, we can provide you with a written estimate.

How deep are the fence posts set?

Posts set only 18″ deep will lean over time.   USA Fence and Roofing sets all steel posts approx. 30″ – 36″ deep in concrete.

How far apart are the posts set?

If the distance between posts is large, your fence will sag and lean.   USA Fence and Roofing sets all metal posts approx. 6′ apart.

How is the concrete mixed?

Some fence installers pour water into the post holes and then pour in the concrete. This leaves unmixed concrete in the post hole, and a very weak concrete around the post.  USA Fence and Roofing mixes all concrete before pouring it into post holes.

What size rails are being installed?

Smaller 2×3 rails are weaker and will not last as long as 2×4 rails.   USA Fence and Roofing uses only 2×4 rails.

How much of an overlap is used for a board-on-board fence?

Board-on-board fences are installed for total privacy. If the pickets are overlapped any less than 1.5″, sun cracks are very likely to occur, which reduces the expected privacy.   USA Fence and Roofing overlaps each picket approximately 1.5″ on each side of the picket.

Do you recommend using stain on your fences?

Protected wood will last longer and sustain less damage over time.   USA Fence and Roofing offers both pre-dipped wood and stain sealer after construction.

Do you pre-dip your wood or stain after installation?

USA Fence and Roofing offers both pre-dip and stain after installation.    A customer’s personal preference is the determining factor.    Pre-dipping wood ensures complete coverage of wood.    In addition, no over spray can occur.

The advantages of pre-dipping:

  • Total wood coverage. Bottoms of pickets are sealed and won’t allow water to penetrate. Back of rails, underside of caps, and board on board fences are totally sealed.
  • You won’t have to schedule the treatment after the installation, and there is no worry about wind or other weather delays.
  • No overspray! You don’t have to worry about your plants, grass, pollution of soil, pool/cool deck, windows, garage door, eves, cars, or metal posts being cleaned properly. It’s better for our environment!
  • No overspray! (This is not a misprint.) Especially not on your neighbor’s cars.
How do you pre-dip your wood?

Some companies dip their wood in inferior stain and do not dry the wood prior to dipping.   USA Fence and Roofing dries the wood before dipping.

The longevity and deep penetration of the stain helps extend wood life and prevents cracking, warping, and splitting of your wood.

What type of roofing nails are used?

Cheaper nails will leave black streaks and aluminum nails do not hold properly.   USA Fence and Roofing uses 1-7/8″ galvanized ring shank nails on all pickets.
